Check, Challenge & Appeal.
Business rates are often wrong, and if they are, you could be overpaying. That’s where Check, Challenge and Appeal comes in. It’s the official process for correcting your rates, and we handle the whole thing for you.
Spotting the errors
Check
This is where everything begins. We look at the details the Valuation Office has on record for your property. That includes things like floor area, layout, and how the building is used. If something isn’t quite right, we make a note of it and prepare to put it right.
Fighting back with the facts
Challenge
If we find a mistake, we take action. We explain to the Valuation Office why the information needs to be corrected. This stage is about presenting the facts and showing where things don’t line up. We handle all of this for you and keep you informed as it progresses.
Taking your case to the next level
Appeal
Sometimes the Challenge doesn’t go far enough. In that case, we move to an appeal. This means your case is reviewed again, this time by an independent panel. If it gets to this point, we prepare everything in detail and represent your interests from start to finish.
